Its Official! Windows Mobile 7 is not launching in MWC 2010

Few Days Back, we were contemplating whether Windows Mobile 7 will be launched in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) or not. Well, it seems like it is not. According to DigiTimes , Microsoft is planning to launch Windows Mobile 6.6 (codenamed Maldives ) and not Windows Mobile 7 in the forthcoming MWC 2010, to compete against the popular iPhone and Android platforms. Further, Windows Mobile 7 devices will not make an appearance till early 2011. Also, according to various sources, the sales of Windows Mobile 6.5 have been flat since the platform was launched in Q4 2009, prompting Microsoft to launch an interim version of Windows Mobile viz Windows Mobile 6.6, which supports capacitive touchscreens as well.
