by Paul Joseph February 16, 2010 Featured

HTC Corporation, the Taiwan based mobile phone manufacturer announced three new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona, Spain. The phones were revealed to a packed press audience by HTC’s President and CEO Peter Chou. Team FoneArena brings you a detailed hands-on experience on all the three phones. HTC Legend is an Android 2.1 based phone with an optical joystick. The complete device is a single block of aluminium which makes the phone extremely sturdy. The phone runs on a 600 Mhz processor with the latest HTC Sense UI. The phone weighs about 125 gms (including the battery) with a very compact form factor of 4.41 x 2.22 x 0.45 inches with a 3.2 inches display. HTC Desire runs on a 1 Ghz snapdragon processor with a large screen size (3.7 inches), thus enhancing your multimedia experience. The screen is much brighter and sharper than previous HTC smart phones. It weighs about 200 gms, a bit more than the Legend but that is expected with the increased form factor and performance improvements. The new Friend Stream widget brings social networks to the Sense UI. With the great success of the Windows Mobile based HD2 smartphone, HTC announced its mini successor the HD2 Mini. The massive 4.2 inch display on the HD2 has been replaced with a 3.2 inch display. The processor as well has been downgraded to 600 Mhz. Just like the HD2, one can use the HD2 mini as a wireless access point. The internals of the HD2 mini are also well designed as seen from the picture. All the three phones have the standard 3.5 mm audio jack, a 5 megapixel camera and expandable storage upto 32 MB using the microSD cards. The microUSB port is used for charging the device. Peter Chou expressed the goal of HTC to be one of the top three smartphone manufacturers by 2013. The above three phones put HTC right there amidst other major smartphone manufacturers definitely threatening its competitors. The race is on. All the phones are expected to hit the market in by April Similar Posts: HTC Legend Announced! Share/Save
