Rediff has recently announced that it will provide real time National Stock Exchange(NSE) information on the site http://money.rediff.com. This information will include the price of the particular scrip for that moment, updated every few seconds. It will also show many other details related to the stock like its volume, previous day’s closing price, market capital and its attributes such as PE ratio, EPS etc. Charts will be available for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly price movements. It has various other features such as a game which will allow you to maintain a virtual portfolio wherein weekly and daily winners are announced. The important point is that the service is free of charge currently. Real time data for scrips on the BSE is already available on the same website. Therefore the stock quotes for common scrips and otherwise can be accessed in the same place. There are many software applications available on the internet which provide real time quotes directly on your desktop once installed. But they are normally never free or available for free only for a fixed evaluation/trial period. Some other websites also provide real data on registering with them by providing your contact details such as Clickindia.com but registration is not required on rediff. Rediff MoneyWiz aims to become the most ‘responsive personal finance portal’ on the web. It is definitely taking steps to move in that direction.
