Opera 10.60 Released : Claimed as the World’s Fastest Stable Browser!

The Norwegian software firm Opera Software has released the final version of its 10.60 browser. It is claimed to be 50 per cent quicker than its previous release, and is also touted to be the “fastest browser on Earth” . The major improvements from the version of 10.54 are: • Opera 10.6 is the first stable version of a browser that lets you play WebM videos. • Opera has added support for many HTML5 features (geolocation, Web workers). • Enhanced mouse movement support and improved JavaScript performance. • Addition of AVG’s real-time threat detection network and phishing protection. • Support for using offline applications for using web based applications in internet unavailability also. • Opera Turbo compresses the data going over the connection by a good factor by feeding sites through Opera’s own servers. • Addition of a number of search engines includes Bing. • With the Speed Dial, to get you to your favorite websites with just a single click. In the web browsing arena, Opera has less than a 5 percent market share internationally, but it continues to have a legion of loyal followers. Its features such as tabbed browsing and tab previews, a customizable search bar, advanced bookmarking tools, and native e-mail, keyboard shortcuts, password management, anti-malware protection from Haute Secure make sure that it stays in the race.
