The South Korean police raided the offices of Google Korea on Tuesday. This was an investigation into whether the company is illegally collecting and storing personal wireless data. Google, world’s online search engine giant is already facing lawsuits and investigations in several countries in connection with private wireless data collected for its Street View service. Street View, which was started in 2006 by Google, allows users to view panoramic street scenes on Google Maps and take virtual walks through cities. Street View provides photographs of neighborhoods taken by Google cameras, but faces and license plates are blurred. From late last year until May, Google Korea dispatched cars topped with cameras to cruise around South Korea to photograph neighborhoods ahead of the planned launch of Street View service in the country. South Korean Police suspect those cars may have illegally captured and stored personal data from wireless networks while they were mapping streets. Discussion Now, Google is the same company which is urging everyone worldwide for a free and open internet . It wants the internet to be free from the clutches of internet service providers and any malpractices on their ends to promote their own welfare. Then why is Google itself indulging in such activities which compromise the privacy of its customers and using the technology at its hands for its own welfare. Isnt this against the spirit of free and open internet. Related Posts Google Ads Jambool To Its Kitty Yahoo! Revitalised to Pulse You Up !!
