Announcing Amit Duggal Of Madison Media As A Panelist At WATSummit 2013

by Paul Joseph on December 28, 2012 · 0 comments

Amit Duggal is  the Digital Director at Madison Media. He has about 10 years of experience, most of it in the digital space. He has worked in various ecommerce / mobile start ups like Indiatimes.com , Travelguru.com, Geodesic to name a few where he was lead online marketing. In the initial years he has worked in conventional agencies like Percept and Leo Burnett advertising in the client servicing department where he serviced clients like Beetel telephones and McDonald’s. In his last role, he was the lead on PepsiCo digital account at Mindshare where he is serving his notice period. He will be joining Madison media in Jan 2013 to take care of north and east digital mandate. Here are the 5 trends to watch out for according to Amit. 1. Prime time TV= Social TV:  Prime time TV is getting converted into social. Reports suggest that most of the people /consumers while watching TV are connected to one / two devices. Response to any kind of content on TV can be seen real time. Most of the times the discussion on a news channel / exciting content on any GEC starts trending real time on twitter. This gives huge opportunity to brands to leverage a lean back medium into an active medium on real time basis. 2. Brands = Publishers:  I see a lot of brands converting themselves into publishers. Redbull with its current Felix activity have shown the world how to create “great” digital content. But It can’t be one-off activity, brands need to optimize the content regularly which gives consumers a reason to come back again and again. 3. Mobrands: Mobile as a medium is cost effective and most relevant in terms of targeting (TG) and localized. With the maximum penetration and ever increasing active internet user base on mobile. Some brands may try to initiate mobile only campaigns for specific objectives. 4. Offline and Digital convergence: More and more brands will try to create tighter campaigns with offline and digital convergence. Brands might create buzz-able content on TV / On-ground activation which will lead users to a specific platform (social / website / wap / app), create conversations/engagement and finally lead to buzz for the brand. 5. Listening: Rise of tools which will do listening (real time) across digital. It will help the brands to know what the chatter is about in digital sphere. Amit will be a panelist on the panel titled ‘Digital Media – Can it build a brand on its own?’. Catch him at WATSummit 2013 on February 15th.
