Spuul Strikes A Deal With YRF As A Marketing Strategy

Indian streaming services are going big on the market when it comes to acquiring and hiring talent and carrying out mergers and deals for expanding their businesses. There were times when television channels used to bid for broadcast spot, and now streaming services have their own genre of bidding where they decide who gets the rights to stream the content online. One such online streaming services, Spuul, has struck a deal with Yash Raj films banner to acquire the content rights for streaming the films produced by the banner. This deal comes as a fresh attempt to attract customers who want premium video Bollywood content on their internet enabled devices.   Spuul has three basic services  which are similar to the service model of many other online content providers. It’s advertising supported subscription service that provides on-demand access to the best of Bollywood movies and television programmes via the web and mobile devices. Spuul have apps across all platforms which makes it easy for consumers to use the service on their handheld devices. It released its iOS app around 7 months ago and has its Android app which is very popular with the movie buffs. The app stands out in terms of timing and usage. You can also create your spuul account through Facebook . Indian streaming startups are making good business as they cater to Indians not only in India but also overseas who are probably devoid of the regular television channels that carry content like that. For example: iStream offer premium sports content to overseas customers and Saavn.com is a big player in the streaming music genre. Saavn has grown to the point that it is hiring engineering talent from colleges to expand its business to other verticals/divisions. These services, while providing content at great prices, also create competition for themselves in the process of expanding . Let’s see who claims the biggest market share in India as the market is still wide open.
