TimesJobs.com Launches New Campaign, Urges People To Take Charge Of Their Careers

TimesJobs.com is always at the forefront of launching new initiatives and services for customers. Examples include the Social Endorsement and Profile Verification feature it launched in mid-January 2013 and the online resume analyser , Resumax it launched in mid-February. Now, the job search portal has launched a new campaign to lure and encourage job seekers. The campaign called ‘Take Charge Of Your Career’ is aimed at urging the youth and employment seekers of today to no longer be passive about their careers, but to direct it in a manner they deem right. The campaign is set to be active in the print medium as well. The campaign promotes the idea “ A Career Doesn’t Happen by Chance” so “Don’t leave your Career to Chances” . The job search giant launched this campaign by sponsoring the coverage of the Union Budget 2013 on economictimes.com . The company has also pushed their campaign on their social media platforms. On Twitter, the company is using the hashtag #GrabTheOpportunity to put the idea of their concept across and the effort is restricted to this alone. On Facebook, they are running Take Charge Of Your Career in an ad-hoc manner. By this I mean that the campaign message is posted on one day and then posted again after a gap of a couple of days. Speaking about the campaign, Amit Jain, Business Head, TimesJobs.com says, “The campaign has two objectives: to actively engage with both active and passive jobseekers and sensitize them not to leave their careers to chance, but to actively take charge of it. The other associated objective is to relate TimesJobs.com’s career growth planning portfolio services, such as CareerPlay, JobBuzz, StepAhead, TechGig, etc. as enablers and facilitators of swift career progression.” While the objective of the campaign and the ‘ fear ’ emotion that it plays on is good, I think it needs to executed and followed up seriously. On social media, a consistent effort needs to be made to promote the campaign and to make more and more people aware about it. I think this campaign has potential, just that it needs to be exploited in a better manner.
