Consumer review website has decided to kill its RSS Feeds on its website. The company is saying it is a part of a cleaning process that will keep spam under control. Faisal Farooqui, founder of, said to India Digital Review , “ One needs to understand the overall context. Feeds generally consume about 1-2% of the subscriber base of a typical web site, hardly impacting the daily traffic. Moreover, interactivity in content sent through feeds is very less compared to that available on the site thereby making the reading activity tiresome and restricted. It also reduces users’ interaction with the site and its community “. According to the company another reason for axing the RSS Feed was to attract more users to the main website. As many users subscribe for RSS Feed, they get all the latest update via emails which refrain them for exploring the company website. Last year in July, the company launched its mobile site in order to establish a strong mobile presence. The mobile site is compatible with smartphones and basic features phones. Also, it is closely integrated to social media platforms. After shutting down RSS Feeds, the company also plans to launch a cross mobile app which makes sense as the company had said earlier that it has seen 500-600% growth in traffic from mobile. had forayed into deal deal sites by launching in 2011. In December last year, the company had deleted 4100 fake profiles of users who have been allegedly posting fake reviews of products and services on the website.
