Twitter’s Vine Comes To Android

Vine, the much talked about iOS app has now landed on Android. The app lets people make quick videos (more like gifs) and share them with people online. Vine is a social network in itself, like Instagram but it has Twitter support baked in. Twitter acquired Vine when it was in early stages of development. Vine is definitely a game changer and it is only because it makes video creation and creative pursuits on video much easier. You have a video time limit of 6 secs and you get to fit in as much as you can in it. This is the same approach that Twitter follows with text and it has helped Twitter reach a large scale because these helps the product to be more consistent and clutter free.  Vine is doing that for video. Here are some of the screenshots of the app: Features: Vine has some nifty features. You have automatic playback and sound but it seems many people are talking about the video and sound not syncing properly as of now. It works perfectly for me though. You can explore the vines being generated all around the world and see trending vines. The app allows you to find your friends using your contact book and social networks. You can also invite friends via text message. If you share your vine on Twitter, the vine can be viewed in the tweet itself. The Android app has got some unique features such as zoom and improved offline browsing. I couldn’t seem to find the web Although, I am generally weary of the standalone social networks that come with an app, I am hopeful about Vine since I can see some very quality stuff on the platform as of now. That being said, I am not sure how it work out it in the long run. Will it turn into that mess that is called the Facebook Newsfeed? I don’t know but this is a fun app and can be a great creative way to play with video.
