The Surprising Case Of 47K Apps Submitted By One Developer On Blackberry App World

Yes, you read that right! Berry Review is reporting the startling fact that around 47K apps on Blackberry App World’s store come from just one developer, S4BB . It seems that around 20-30 apps seem to be good while the rest are just good for nothing apps which are making many people suspicious. These are apps for audiobooks, city guides, smiley packs etc. While they are not entirely illegitimate and do pass the general guidelines for an app, they seem to be delivering very little value to the Blackberry community. Since Blackberry were very late to the app scene, they started a concerted push to get developers interested in their BB10 platform. We reported many months back about many apps that were ported. As part of this initiative, the company also announced that developers could submit their apps for free on the app store, something that normally carries yearly charges for Android and iOS developers. Blackberry had claimed that they had 120,000 apps on their platform back in May. One developer having that many amount of apps puts the situation in a different light.
