Facebook Launches “Donate Now” Button

Facebook  recently launched its ‘Donate Now’ button in a series of design changes. This could bring about a new way for advertisers and brands to view Facebook given the massive reach it has. The catch, however, lies in the fact that the button would collect credit card numbers and other billing information for Facebook that could ultimately help the social networking giant in its e-commerce and gaming initiatives. This looks like a good move if Facebook decides to jump in that sector as it will give FB a ready resource for customer data. Facebook has been tweaking the  design  for a long time now to find the perfect fit. Facebook  recently  replaced its ‘Hide All’ button with the more succinct ‘Unfollow,’ letting users block all messages and posts from selected friends. Ever since Facebook underwent a depressing IPO, the shares and the faith of stakeholders has been decreasing steadily for Facebook. The social media network has worked hard on introducing new features that would keep the company afloat by constantly attracting new customers and retaining the old ones. Facebook recently also  changed  their chat box design and the new one resembles an awful lot like the apple iOS chat box design from the earlier OS versions like iOS 4 and 5. The main reasoning behind the philosophy of new design has been de-cluttering, which was also the reason behind introducing the timeline. Recently, Facebook rolled out its video auto-play feature on both the web and mobile on official apps. We are not sure about how Facebook’s billion plus users will like the new auto-playing videos and ads as it suggests the loss of control over deciding what to watch on the social platform. Video ads are a big proposition these days. In fact, if Facebook’s new ad efforts are successful in terms of reach and engagement, then it will definitely see a resurgence of more advertising money being pumped into the format.   Image Source | verticalresponse Looking For A Social Media Agency?? – Contact WATConsult – India’s Leading Social Media Agency
