I was recently looking for a new phone when Motorola Droid Xoom caught my attention. It’s was just released recently around July of this year, 2010. The cost of this is around $250 to $280 which is not a bad price because of all the features that it has. This phone looks very sleek, chic, classy and stylish because of the wide touch screen which is the currently the trend to phones. At 13.7, it is one of the thinnest QWERTY sliders so if you’re into typing, blogging or texting you can just use the keypad instead but as for the color it is only available in black though. Checking messages is made easier via threaded view t friendly. It has long battery life that can be used for 385min and standby time up until 270 hrs. It features android OS, v2.1 (eclair) that can be upgradable to v2.2 and a TI OMAP 3630-1000 1 GHZ processor. If you’re a person on the go, this would likely fit you because it has Wi-Fi for browsing the internet for emails or just checking Facebook. It also comes with a applications for GPS, Google maps, Google search, Google talk, Gmail, YouTube, adobe flash 10.1, a document viewer, organizer and can also do voice commands if you’re simply driving your car. It can view Microsoft word files or PDF files. This can come very handy with business or office function. It also comes with MIcroSD of 16 GB upgradable to 32 GB for mass storage. You also hook this to your personal computer via USB data cable or even connect to a TV output that can be useful for presentations. If you’re the type who to shoot moments at the palm of your hand, this can be done through with its high resolution camera that has 5megapixels with dual led flash. You can also take note that Motorola Droid Xoom as a zoom up to four times and has face detection. You can also edit you’re stuff by using tools for cropping, rotating or geo tagging and can view various types of images like BMP, PNG, GIR or JPEG. Of course, if it comes with a powerful camera feature, it would be expected that it comes with a player that not only can play mp3 but stream video with a DVD quality that has a 24 fps capture. Smart smartphones Motorola Droid 2 and Droid X to launch soon

Motorola Droid 2 and Droid X are much awaited Android mobiles from Motorola . The good news is that Droid 2 will soon make it to the handset market, most likely by August 12, 2010. The Droid 2 shall sport a 3.7-inches screen and will run on operating system, Android 2.2 with MotoBlur. The speedy processor to power it would be an OMAP 750Mhz. The mobile phone has 8GB of internal storage memory with provision of expansion. Its awesome 5 megapixel camera resting at its rear feature HD video recording. The Motorola Droid 2 has a re-designed QWERTY keyboard and associated features like Bluetooth voice dialing, improved browser, a faster Javascript engine and Flash 10.x support. One may store many applications on external memory. Motorola Droid 2 offer improved performance and power-efficiency. Droid X will come by early September. It has wide and large 4.3″ screen, 8MP camera with capability of making HD video and get HDMI output. It has a high-resistive screen and runs at web-busting speed. Motorola has also planned to release a smartphone powered by a dual 1GHz processor by the end of 2010.

But Motorola has joined hands with local maps company MapMyIndia to offer lifetime free access to fully voice-guided street-level navigable maps of 401 cities in India Above image is just illustration and not the actual software on the phone This offers voice-guided navigation and routing in the cities and across major national and state highways. With this the Indian consumer can drive to 400,000 towns and villages and explore over one million points of interest like budget/premium hotels, petrol pumps, eating joints, ATMs, hospitals as well as tourist and religious spots. All the consumer needs to do is to launch ‘India’ maps from the MOTONAV application to enjoy an unparalleled navigation experience. The GPS navigation service is free with no activation or data charges, independent of mobile networks and can be used even without inserting the SIM card, as the maps are fully loaded on the MILESTONE It sounds really cool and would have been cool if Moto bundled the phone with a Car holder.  I had a chance to talk with a MapMyIndia executive recently and they claim to have the best maps of India just next to the government . I’m really eager to try this for navigation inside a small town and also a major city !
