Nokia N900 Firmware Updated To Version 3.2010.02-8

Nokia recently released a new firmware update for its popular Maemo based smartphone, Nokia N900. The new version 3.2010.02-8 can be easily downloaded from Over The Air (OTA) update. The size of this firmware update is just 16 MB. The new firmware update comes with minor fixes and improvements. The changelog of this firmware update is not yet available. It is advised to backup all your data before updating the device. We will update this post as soon as we get more information regarding this firmware update. Motorola Droid To Get Android 2.1 Update this Week

All you Droid Users, here is some news to cheer up with. Motorola Droid will be finally getting the Android 2.1 upgrade this week, the company announced on its official Facebook page . This OTA (Over The Air) update will bring the Droid on par with the Google Nexus One, only with some features missing. However it is still not know as to what features Droid will be missing and any additional feature it will be getting (if any). But according to Engadget , it will sport Multi touch in the browser with no support for flash, Google Goggles will be pre installed and the news and weather widgets featured in Nexus One will be included. The update will miss the newly introduced visual effects such as active wallpapers and the 3D grid of the app icons on the Nexus One homescreen. iPhone 3.1.3 Firmware Out

All you iPhone/iPod touch guys, a new firmware iPhone OS 3.1.3 is now out. However this release is just a maintenance release I guess, with just bug fixes and patching security holes with no new features added to it. But it is highly recommended to upgrade to this version for security issues. So Fire up iTunes on your desktop and update your iPhone’s firmware. Note : This update will undo the jailbreaking process, so if you have a jailbroken iPhone/iPod touch I would recommend you to not upgrade to 3.1.3 immediately and wait for iPhone Dev team to jailbreak it. Nokia N97 gets a Firmware update to version 21

We had told you some time back that the N97 V2.1 firmware was coming soon , it’s out for download now and you can grab it via Nokia Software Updater or NSU Here are updates which this v21 firmware update brings Improved call reliability Smooth touch screen scrolling Browser improvements Music player improvements Improved image and video stability The update is only available via NSU now and the  over-the-air “FOTA” packages update is expected to be around 17MB. It is still being tested and FOTA update will be available soon. The update via NSU is is around 140MB. Nokia N900 gets huge 89.5 MB v51.1 firmware update via OTA

Its raining firmware updates from Nokia once again . The N900 which got a minor firmware update (version 44.1) few days back is now getting a HUGE firmware update which is around 89.5 MB. This update bears the version number 51.1 and is also known as a PR 1.1 update. Check out the screenshots for the details. If you don’t get a prompt about the update. Head over to the Application manager and click on the updates icon. You will see a Maemo5 item in the list of updates available. This is all over the air (OTA) with no need for a PC or NSU.  But to get this update you must have the version 44.1 firmware installed on your phone. We recommend you to take a backup before installing the update. Also make sure you have sufficient amount of charge left or connect the phone to a charger. Since the update is huge is size even OTA , use a Wi-Fi connection . We will post the Changelog soon. Nokia 5800 v40 Firmware Changelog + Videos

The Nokia 5800 just got a f irmware update to v40.0.005 .  Many 5800 users across the world have been waiting for a long time for this update.  Here is the change log for the v40 firmware for the Nokia 5800 Kinectic Scrolling everywhere except: main menu, application menu, browser Homescreen  similar to that of 5530 with 20 contacts. Removed the alphanumeric keypad in landscape version, now when we turned the phone alphanumeric portrait changes to full QWERTY New screen alarm, but only when the screen is locked Ovi Contacts installed Improved application “Updating Applications”, which also renames Upgrade SW; The application “Data transfer” was also implemented in “Settings” Real Player Updated to 12 October 2009 Touch more responsive Improved stability NOT HACKABLE!! Nokia N86 gets bumped to v21.006 Firmware

Well, Looks like Nokia N86 also has got a firmware update to v21.006 from its previous version v20.115 . It seems like this is just a maintenance release aimed at improving the performance of the device and fixing all the bugs in the previous firmware with no special features attached to it. Although the Nokia N86 supports User Data Preservation (UDP), we highly recommend you to take a backup of all your data before kickstarting the firmware update to prevent any data loss. You can update the firmware of the phone either by Over the Air (OTA) on the device or Nokia Software Updater (NSU) on the PC. If your device does not detect any new firmware, then relax, the update might not have reached your region product code yet. The firmware update will eventually roll out to all product codes of Nokia N86. As this is a maintenance release, there has been no specific changelog for this firmware release as yet, but we will update you as soon as we get one. Nokia E72 gets a firmware update to v22.007

The Nokia E72 has got it’s first firmware update since its public launch. There’s a new firmware update to version 22.007. Although the SW Update app on the phone indicates that a new phone software is available, one cannot update the firmware Over the Air ( FOTA) .  You need to use Nokia Software Updater (NSU) to get the job done. While there is no official changelog as of now, looks like this is an update to fix some bugs and performance related issues. Although the E72 supports UDP or  User Data Preservation its highly recommended to take a backup before proceeding with the update. We are not taking a chance ! We would love to update the firmware Over the Air and avoid downloading some 160 MB of data and trouble our networks. Although the E75 had some issues one being dismal battery life, it was a breeze to update the firmware  on the E75 over the air. Although the E72 supports FOTA . looks like the rollout through that channel is slower than NSU. Nokia N900 V44.1 firmware changelog

The Nokia N900 got a minor firmware update yesterday to version 44.1 Here is the changelog for the update.
