TIL Acquires IPL Digital Media Rights

A consortium of Times Internet Limited (TIL) and Nimbus Communication Limited (Nimbus)has acquired the Indian Premier League global Internet, mobile and audio rights, along with television rights in specific territories outside India for the next 4 years. TIL will own global Internet, mobile and audio rights and Nimbus will distribute and broadcast TV rights in various territories outside India. IPL is a huge online property and this win is definitely a feather on the TIL cap which will be able to drive ad revenues through the monetization of this content. TIL is expected to provide live matches across  devices/platforms. With the advent of 3G one can expect interesting offerings on the mobile space too for IPL.
