Intel & MasterCard In An Alliance To Enable Quick & Safe Online Payments

by Paul Joseph November 14, 2011 Featured

Intel and Master Card have decided on a multi-year partnership deal in order to offer end users a better security and also optimizing the payment procedures online. This exclusive deal will be signed to reap the best out of both of the parties. While MasterCard is a giant player with respect to payment processing in online commerce , Intel shines out by offering high end chip based security. Both will come together to provide a powerful security system on the web and also simplify the payment gateway issues for online transactions. There are still a lot of obstacles when it comes to check-outs. This partnership will rule out those errors. The most intriguing component of this news is that MasterCard and Intel wants to bring in a new transformation in the domain of payment technologies. MasterCard will be releasing ‘ PayPass ‘ that allows users to make payments without having to swipe the magnetic strip on cards and it uses NFC to transmit information. On the other hand Intel with its new Identity Protection Technology will give users two-factor authentication along with hardware display protection (in order to be secure from malware threats and attacks). Once users want to make payments, the Intel IPT reader will allow them to make easy payments online with the help of PayPass card , smart phones or even an Ultrabook. This collaboration has been done in order to enhance security on the web and also giving consumers a quick check out system with a simple tap or click. Ed McLaughlin, chief emerging payments officer, MasterCard said, “T his partnership is about how to make the payments process more secure without having to change the experience of consumer “. Hope we have no more long payment gateways! Looking For A Social Media Agency?? – Contact WATConsult – India’s Leading Social Media Agency

Twitter Challenges Facebook With Its New Suit Of Feeds And Features

by Paul Joseph August 12, 2011 Featured

Twitter  is constantly spinning in new UI features to captivate the Tweeple. Recetly it has come up with a new feature that enables Twitter addicts to see Retweets in sync with @Mentions tab. This will give you the @{your username} tab highlighting your tweets, the favorites, number of new followers, new lists and your replies as well. There is yet another add-on i.e the Activity tab which displays the non-tweet activity from the people you follow. But do people really want to see tweets from all the people they follow? Well Chuck Longanecker, founder of user experience shop Digital Telepathy  said, “ Over time, we will be able to answer the question: Will people prefer the timeline or activity? Is there room for both or will it cause clutter ?” A staff member of Twitter however elucidated the fact by saying that Twitter plants to expands its horizon by bringing in new features and even revamping the mobile application. There are two important pointers to this change. Twitter plans to let you know which are your popular tweets and secondly @[your username] tab will enhance the Activity tab. This is like a replica of Facebook’s who-friended-whom  feature. However this activity stream was not started but was mainstreamed by Facebook. Earlier the same was done by myriad news aggregators or project management tools. The question is whether people will like the change or be aversive to it? Only time can tell.

Idea Cellular Won Subcribers Whereas RCom Lost Them

by Paul Joseph August 11, 2011 Featured

Yesterday we blogged that 13 million subscribers in India changed their service provider by using Mobile Number Portability (MNP).  It is now reported that Idea Cellular , one of the telecom companies have benefited the most from MNP. The Cellular Operators Association of India recently carried out a survey which revealed that Airtel and Vodafone gained most of the market share from the Indian Telecom sector. In this report, Idea was spotted at third place with market share of 15.88%. It is mentioned that Idea Cellular ranks first gaining 824,845 subscribers . Whereas, RCom ranks second losing 1.2 million subscribers . Vodafone Essar. Ltd ranks third with 711,135 subscribers while Bharti Airtel Ltd. gained 650,599 subscribers . Idea Cellular have also launched it’s own App store which was powered by Sony Ericsson. This not the first time RCom have lost some of it’s subscribers to MNP as even BSNL had lost 1.3 lakh users to MNP. To offer something extra to subscribers, Idea Cellular have tied up with Yahoo and MTNL to offer mobile advertising and Onesearch. In coming days there are chances that some other providers will reign the  MNP service . Until then its Idea leading the way for sure. Have you changed your number using MNP?
