Rumour : iPhone 3GS India Launch on Monday March 15 with 4 Operators

by Paul Joseph March 12, 2010 Featured

We have some interesting information from one of our sources. Apple is finally planning to launch the iPhone 3GS in India on coming monday March 15. Apple is planning to accept pre-orders or bookings for a short duration before actual sales start. It’s going to be offered on 4 Operators – Airtel, Vodafone , Reliance and Aircel and the phone will be locked to the operator for 1 or 2 years after which you can unlock the phone officially ! Reliance and Aircel might be the new operators offering iPhones. Airtel and Vodafone already offer the iPhone 3G.What’s surprising is none of these operator’s offer 3G services. BSNL / MTNL are missing from that list.  But this list is not official so we can’t comment. Also our source tells us that the iPad will hit India in June. And finally India is getting a lot of global attention ( HTC Smart , Nexus One Mini , Moto android phones). But when the whole world is waiting for the iPhone 4G, it’s so painful to anticipate a 3GS India Launch. Nokia C6 Leaked

by Paul Joseph March 12, 2010 Featured

Here is a fresh leaked picture of the Nokia C6 which was found on a french site . Nokia announced the C5 at CeBIT and also spoke about it’s new naming convention going forward. Now the C6 pictured below looks like cross between the low-end Nokia 5230 , 5800 and the high end N97 The french site is also calling the C6 a  N97 lite. Whats most interesting about this phone is the placement of the D-pad on the right and the display in the same plane as the keyboard (like in N900, E75) and not like in N97 and N97 Mini. And the UI looks a lot like Symbian^3. The C6 might be Nokia’s first phone to run Symbian^3. No further specs are available. Although this is a rumour , the image looks pretty authentic. And if its just a mockup, then perhaps brands should learn from mockup artists ! Nokia C6 Price and Availability is not yet known but we can expect something this summer Similar Posts: Nokia C Series launching at CeBIT this week

Google might bring Cheaper Nexus One to India

by Paul Joseph March 4, 2010 Featured

Google might be planning a Nexus One mini for India. They are planning to bring a cheaper cut down version of the Google Nexus One phone to India according Ankit from CNBC TV-18 who had a chance to interact with Google India MD Shailesh Rao .   Few days ago , Rao felt India was not smartphone friendly , perhaps he has grand plans to tackle that. This is what Ankit had to say about what he learnt from Shailesh Rao about the fate of Nexus One’s India launch. Nexus One will not come to India in its US avatar, the India specific Google Phone may be a stripped down version and priced lower! No word about the price of this phone or any estimated launch date In a mobile market dominated by a few players, Google’s entry as a mobile handset player(in partnership with HTC or Moto) can be a game changer and might create serious competition for Nokia, Samsung etc.  The Google brand has a great reputation in India amongst internet users and a Google branded phone might be a dream come true for them. The Nexus One is currently not sold in India but many users have purchased it from the US for around 530 USD which is approx Rs.25000 and the money is certainly worth for the specs of the Nexus One. We speculate that the ideal price for the Nexus One Mini should be around the Rs.15000 mark (327 USD) for a cutdown variant. If it wants to shatter some sales records ,  it can be priced at Rs.9999. Woot ! we are definitely excited and just a gentle reminder ,  there is a no official nexus one mini as of now . We are just preferring to call it that way . Hope the Nexus One Mini comes to India and lets hope Google does not disappoint India like Apple did. via labnol Similar Posts: Nexus One might not come to India for now Nexus One Priced At $180 With T-mobile And $530 For Unlocked Version Nexus One Live Pics The Making of the Google Nexus One , Behind the Scenes Videos Google Nexus One Pictures and Videos Share/Save

Microsoft plans to invest $1 billion in Mobile Space

by Paul Joseph March 3, 2010 Featured

According to Forbes Microsoft is planning to invest over $1 billion in the mobile space . The information comes from an analyst who claims he got this info from the General Manager, Investor Relations at Microsoft Windows Mobile is down to a single digit market share and RIM and Apple have literally eaten up the marketshare of  WinMo handsets over the last couple of years.  There were rumors that MS could pick up Palm or RIM but it might not happen now as Microsoft unveiled the Windows 7 Phone series at Mobile World Congress last month. Windows Phone 7 looks really promising from what we saw at the Barcelona last month but what’s worrying is the expected release date of Windows 7 Phone hardware – Holiday Season 2010 which is quite far away in the mobile world where innovation happen at an incredible speed. But it’s good news that the company is investing heavily in the mobile space and Microsoft can certainly make a comeback Similar Posts: Windows Phone 7 Series Official Videos Share/Save
