BSNL has launched 3G  services in Mangalore District  after Chennai, Bangalore , Hyderabad and Kerala The 3G services will be first available in Surathkal, Baikampady, Mangalore, Ullal, Deralakatte and Udupi . The release of the Sony Ericsson Playstation Phone or the PSP Phone has been one of the most rumoured news in the mobile world. The rumours have been circulating the net ever since Sony Ericsson gave the Walkman and Cyber-Shot branding to their phones. Some said that Sony lost sales of digicams and walkmans due to the phones branded with the Walkman and Cybershot and so they would release the Playstation phone independently ie it would be called the Sony PSP Phone and not the Sony Ericsson PSP phone. The rumours faded away with some resurfacing from time to time. But now engineers at Sony are developing a phone that will be able to download and run Playstation games. kind of like a mobile version of the PSP Go. Sony is also said to be working on an Apple iPad like device with gaming capabilities. This move might have been initiated due to the ever growing market for mobile phones particularly in the past year or two. Ovi today launched the new version of Ovi Mail i.e. Ovi Mail 2.0 . One of the major changes in this version 2.0 is the integration of Ovi Mail with Ovi Contacts . i.e. Ovi Mail doesn’t have separate address book for contacts,but instead uses Ovi Contacts now. Another Big Update is the Arabic Support for Ovi Mail 2.0, both on web version as well as on your device.  Ovi Team added that this task was a very challenging since Arabic, unlike other languages is a right to left language and therefore they had to change the whole Ovi Mail UI to support it. Blackberry showed off it’s upcoming  WebKit based browser at MWC 2010.  The current default browser on Blackberry phones may not be the best mobile browser in the world. Most Blackberry users prefer to use 3rd party browser apps. But soon you might not need those apps as the default browser is set to get a major boost. In the new version  , pages load really fast and content like Javascript and AJAX are fast and responsive. The panning and zooming has also been improved. The browser scores 100/100 score in the ACID3 test which is a standards test for browsers. Yes you read it right- Eye-Controlled Ear phones — one of the most interesting demos we saw at MWC 2010 last month. Imagine being able to control your tracks , volume and playback with just your eyes — completely hands free ! No fancy concept or research paper in some university but an actual working demo We managed to capture a complete demo which includes a technical explanation of how the ear phones actually works for you . Hope you like it ! The special ear phones detect the movement of your eyeballs and music players and cellphones can be controlled using these eye gestures. The earphones contain electrodes and human eyeballs contain a infinitely small charge. These electrodes in the earphones pick up these charges and they are amplified so that they can be used for processing.For Example, when both eyes are looking in the left direction it means a positive charge in left electrode and a negative charge in the right electrode. These signals can be used to control devices . This project is currently in R&D at NTT DOCOMO Japan and the product is not commercially available. But now we know why Japan is certainly way ahead when it’s come to the mobile industry !
